The Ohio State football team hasn’t lost a lot of players to the transfer portal this Spring. Most of their guys have decided to stay with the program. They all want a chance to win a national championship. That’s what this team is built to do right now. The defense might be the best in the country. The offense isn’t half-bad either.

One of the players who did decide to enter the transfer portal was Dallan Hayden. He did so before the Spring Game. You can’t blame Hayden for wanting to leave the Buckeyes. He could never get playing time for some reason, even though he deserved it based on what he showed in limited games in 2022 and 2021.

Ex-Ohio State football player Dallan Hayden will be transferring to Colorado

We now know that the former Buckeye is headed to Colorado to play for Deion Sanders and the Buffalos. I have to be honest, this strikes me as a strange choice. Colorado is bleeding players into the transfer portal. The roster last season wasn’t that strong either. It’s not a team that is expecting to be in contention for much of anything.

Perhaps Hayden was tired of not getting playing time and saw this as his best chance of starting for a Power 4 program. He is a really solid player who just needs a chance to show what he can do. Maybe he thinks that Colorado is the best place for him to showcase his talents for NFL scouts to see so he can get drafted and play on Sundays.

I wish nothing but the best for Hayden. His former position coach never gave him much of a chance. I don’t blame him for wanting to leave Ohio State. Even though the team as a whole won’t be very good, I expect Hayden to perform well. The offensive line will still stink.

Buckeye fans will be keeping tabs on him for sure.
