We have been talking a lot about how the Ohio State football team has been preparing for the upcoming college football season. The NFL season is right around the corner too though. The NFL season starts in just under a month. With that, preseason games have already started for teams and players are trying to play well.

For a few ex-Ohio State Buckeyes, they are fighting for spots on a roster. When that happens, players need to play well in these preseason games in order to secure those spots. One of those players is center Luke Wypler, who decided to leave the Buckeyes early for the NFL. Unfortunately, it looks like his season might be over before it even starts.

Former Ohio State football player gets carted off the field

Wypler is the backup center for the Browns after he was drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 Draft. He got the start because Cleveland didn’t play their starters in the first preseason game. While he was out there, he unfortunately suffered an injury. It was an injury that required his leg to be immobilized as he was carted off the field.

For Wypler, his season might be over before it even starts. It’s a rough way to start his second professional season. In fact, the former Buckeye was fighting to keep his roster spot. Even though he was on the team last season as a backup, the Browns will have to sign someone else to take Wypler’s spot while he heals up.

As of right now, there is no official update about Wypler’s injury. Based on the fact that his leg had to be immobilized, it seems highly unlikely that he will continue to be able to play this season. Hopefully, it’s not as bad as it seems and he’s able to come back and play.
