The Ohio State basketball program added a player from the transfer portal to fill out the roster. They grabbed Ques Glover from Kansas State to replace Taison Chatman and he is not on scholarship. Chatman hurt his knee and will miss the entire season. Still, there is a roster spot to fill Chatman out for the year. They have an open scholarship to use.

Jake Diebler decided that the best way to fill that final spot on the Buckeyes would be with a center. The Buckeyes decided to sign 7’1 center Ivan Njegovan. He is from Croatia and has played for KK Bosco. He’s just 19 years old and has the size to really grab rebounds and affect shots at the rim. Ohio State struggled with both of those things a year ago.

Adding Njegovan gives the frontcourt an added amount of size and intimidation. While he may not play a lot this year, it gives the Buckeyes a backup plan in case something happens to Aaron Bradshaw. Ohio State needs that size in the middle now that Felix Okpara is gone. Njegovan comes in as more of a developmental project.

Ohio State’s roster is now full and they are ready to compete in the 2024-25 season. This is a team that has expectations of being in the top half of an expanded Big Ten and making the NCAA Tournament. The Ohio State basketball team is rebuilding, but they are ahead in that rebuild from where a lot of other programs start.

The Buckeyes should be better than they were in each of the last two seasons. How Diebler is able to get the team to play at a higher level against good teams consistently will be the difference between the team playing in March and watching from home.
