The Ohio State basketball program has had an open roster spot for a while. Ever since the Buckeyes were done making moves in the transfer portal in late April and early May, they have been quiet. There had been 14 players on the roster and there was no real indication from Jake Diebler as to when that 15th player might be added.
We finally know when that player is going to be added because it happened on Monday. The Buckeyes announced that they had added Ques Glover from the transfer portal. Glover has played for two other schools as well. Glover has played for Samford and Florida and will now join the Buckeyes for his final season of eligibility.
Ohio State basketball team uses its final roster spot on Ques Glover
With the loss of Taison Chatman for the season, the Buckeyes need depth at the guard spot. Glover gives them that depth. He averaged 14.7 points per game in 2022-23 for Samford in the 19 games that he was able to play. If he can stay healthy, which has been an issue, he can actually get some playing time for Ohio State. He’s never played 30 games in a season before.
Glover missed the entire 2023-24 season with a knee injury and didn’t play a single game for Kansas State. Having him healthy is going to be the main issue for him. This is also the fifth different program he’s had a stop at. He was briefly at BYU as well, so he’s certainly been around the block. This is his last chance to play and make an impact.
Ohio State basketball fans shouldn’t expect to see a lot of him out on the court. He has to fight for playing time in a crowded backcourt and it could take him a while to get that knee healthy. Still, it’s nice to grab someone this late in the cycle who has playing experience.
