The Ohio State basketball program is still doing work in the transfer portal. They are still trying to assess the needs that they have on their roster. Jake Diebler just recently got a former five-star recruit from Kentucky to commit. There are still some players that the Buckeyes are showing interest in and are trying to land.
Grabbing Meechie Johnson and bringing him back to Ohio State was a good start. He might not be the only guard that the Buckeyes end up bringing in. They have another in-state guard that the Ohio State basketball team is interested in who just put the Bucks in his final four.
Toledo transfer guard has the Ohio State basketball program in his final four
Ra’Heim Moss, a guard who played at Toledo for the last three years, has the Buckeyes in his final four. The guard averaged 15.5 points per game last season and shot 46% from the field. He’s a guy that the Buckeyes could use off the bench now that both Scotty Middleton and Roddy Gayle have left.
Moss has some nice rebounding ability as well, grabbing 5.4 rebounds a game. He can find some open guys too because he also averaged three assists a game. He is likely to make his announcement soon. Moss has Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. He has a wide variety of schools he’s considering at this point.
As for what Moss can bring to the Ohio State basketball team next season, he’d be a great sixth or seventh man. He’d be a guard that Diebler could put in and handle the ball off the bench. I wouldn’t expect him to score as much as he did at Toledo, but he’s someone who can kind of run the show when Meechie and Bruce Thornton are on the bench.
We’ll have to see if Moss decides that Ohio State is where he wants to be. We’ll certainly let you know.
