Ohio State football: Do the Buckeyes have a shot at five-star WR?

The Ohio State football team is hoping to get a five-star recruit who just de-committed from LSU. Do they have a real shot?

The Ohio State football team usually cleans up when it comes to recruiting wide receivers. They produce some of the best talent in the country at that position every single year. That’s what allows them to keep reloading at receiver. It seems like every single year they bring in a five-star recruit. That speaks to how good of a recruiter Brian Hartline is.

There is a five-star receiver who just de-committed from LSU which Ohio State has been interested in. In fact, the Buckeyes will host him for a visit at the end of the year. It’ll be the second time he’s in Columbus. Of course, I’m talking about Dakorien Moore, who is the third-best recruit in the country overall.

Could the Ohio State football team get Dakorien Moore?

Moore has decided that he won’t be attending LSU. It would seem that the Buckeyes are in a prime position to get him if they nail the visit on May 31st. Hartline is one of the best closers in the country. If they were able to land him, he would become the highest-rated recruit for Ohio State in their 2025 recruiting class.

The thing that concerns me is his most recent tweet. After de-committing, Moore said this:

What does that mean? Does that mean Ohio State has already sealed up his commitment? Or does it mean Texas, who is now the favorite on 247Sports, has done that? This is what happens in the era of NIL. Another school could swoop in with a massive offer to gain a commitment. This is happening more and more as time goes along.

This is part of the reason why Ryan Day brought Chip Kelly on staff to run the offense. He needs to be more focused on fundraising for NIL collectives, which is not something he really wants to do. I still think the Ohio State football team has a shot at Moore though.
