Spring practice starts today for the Ohio State football program. It’s the beginning of a new season and new hope for both players and fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes. This team is built for 2024 and is going all in. They had several players return from last year’s team with hopes of winning a Big Ten and national championship.
One of those players who chose to return is TreVeyon Henderson. Henderson came back for his senior year after being plagued by injuries in each of the last two years. He hasn’t had a fully healthy college season yet. Now he’s back and ready to be the lead back once again for the Buckeyes. He had a chance to go to the NFL and decided to return to Columbus.
TreVeyon Henderson reveals why he returned to the Ohio State football team
Henderson could have gone as high as the second round in April’s NFL Draft. Instead, he decided to run it back with the Buckeyes. Speaking to the media on Monday, he revealed why. Henderson mentioned that before the Cotton Bowl, he was leaning towards leaving. Then he prayed on it and decided to return for another year.
Ohio State is sure glad that he did. They now have a formidable one-two punch with Henderson and Ole Miss transfer Quinshon Judkins. They might be the best one-two punch in college football. With Chip Kelly now calling the plays, they should be able to run the ball more effectively this year too.
Kelly’s offense at UCLA was always able to run the ball well. Add in a mobile quarterback in Will Howard and this team should be more effective on the ground than they were a year ago. Henderson is looking to have a big year in his final year with the Buckeyes so his Draft stock can be the highest it possibly can.
I think Henderson is poised for a big year. Judkins is going to take some pressure off of him too.
