The Ohio State football program has already started off their 2025 recruiting class about as good as you can. They have two five-star cornerbacks and a four-star quarterback who is right on the border of being a five-star guy. Ryan Day has to be pleased with the way things are going on the recruiting trail and how hard his assistants are working.

NIL money has certainly helped the Buckeyes in their recruiting efforts. But these players want to go somewhere that can develop them to be the best. Ohio State has a track record of doing just that. Another elite defensive back seems to think so and now he has been crystal ball predicted to go to Ohio State.

The Ohio State football program is projected to land the best safety in the country

The Ohio State football program is projected to get Faheem Delane, the top-rated safety in the 2025 recruiting class. Delane is from Maryland and is a five-star kid. He would be the third five-star defensive back to join the Buckeyes. That might be the greatest haul in the history of recruiting if all of these kids were to be Buckeyes.

Of course, we live in the day and age of NIL. Recruiting is harder than it’s ever been before because of it. Ohio State is going to have to recruit these kids every single day, even the ones they have commitments from. Delane hasn’t verbally committed anywhere yet, but obviously, the crystal ball prediction is a good thing.

It’s unclear right now when Delane will make his official announcement on where he will be playing college football. We’ll let you know when he does, but it’s great to have the Buckeyes as the leaders in the clubhouse right now. Tim Walton and Matt Guerreri have had a great start to the 2025 recruiting class.

Now if the Buckeyes can just get some elite offensive linemen…then they’re cooking with gas!
