The Ohio State football team is going to have one of the best rosters in the country. There’s a good shot that they will be a top-three team in the country. They have the best defense in the country and have an offense that should be even better than they were last year. Despite that, there’s still some uncertainty surrounding the offense.

One of the biggest questions surrounding the offense is the starting offensive line. We do know who will start on the left side of the line. Josh Simmons will man the left tackle spot while Donovan Jackson will be the left guard. Everything else is still up in the air. Ryan Day was asked about that during Big Ten Media Day.

Day was asked specifically who will start at right guard. He mentioned Carson Hinzman, Seth McLaughlin, Tegra Tshabola, and Luke Montgomery are all in the mix. In other words, he provided no clarity on the situation whatsoever. He even said that Hinzman and McLaughlin are still battling it out for the starting center position.

McLaughlin is still the leader for the starting center spot. Hinzman is the likely candidate at right guard, but obviously, that isn’t decided yet. Josh Fryar is going to be the starting right tackle and Day all but said so on Tuesday during an interview. The Buckeyes clearly will still have some battles when Fall camp rolls around.

Day has never named starters in battles before Fall starts. He isn’t about to change that now when this is the most pressure-packed season of his career. The Buckeyes won’t name starters on the offensive line or at quarterback until right before the season. Will Howard is still the likely choice at QB though.
