The Ohio State football team has shown that they can play with anyone. They are one of the best teams in all of college football. Both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball have been impressive for the Buckeyes. They have the best defense in the country statistically and a top-five offensive group in most of the major categories.

Ohio State used a big second half to down Iowa 35-7. Taking down a team that has a really solid defense with ease shows just how good of a team they are. After a wild week in college football, the Buckeyes have gotten a boost in the polls. After being the third-ranked team in the country last week, they have moved up.

After taking down the Hawkeyes, the Ohio State Buckeyes are now the second-ranked team in the country. Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, so they fell all the way to seven. Texas moved back into that top spot and the Buckeyes moved up to second. Oregon, who the Buckeyes play next weekend, moved all the way up to third.

If the Buckeyes are able to beat the Ducks in Eugene, they will likely move up to that number one spot. Ohio State would have the best win in the country. Texas is sitting at that top spot based on their win at Michigan. Michigan now has two losses and has proven to be a fraud. That victory no longer looks as impressive as it did a few weeks ago.

This is where Ohio State deserves to be ranked right now. Having them in that top spot would be irresponsible right now based on the resume they have, even if they do have the most talent. The voters are doing the smart thing and waiting until the Oregon game to make that final call.
