The Ohio State football program has the best recruiting class in the country. A lot of that is due to the defensive talent that the Buckeyes have in that 2025 class. That doesn’t mean that they don’t have offensive talent. In fact, they have the second-best recruit in the country and he is on the offensive side of the ball.

This weekend, the Buckeyes had 12 prospects on campus for a visit. They were hoping to get a host of commitments from all of the top talent who were in Columbus. One of the recruits who was there for a visit did, in fact, commit. While it wasn’t the top-rated recruit who was on the visit, he’s still a solid recruit.

Ohio State football program gets a commitment from a three-star recruit

Ohio State got a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Jake Cook. Cook is an in-state prospect from Westerville, Ohio. He is an interior offensive lineman who is one of the lowest-rated prospects on the visit this weekend. That doesn’t mean that he won’t turn into a good player. He has a lot of room to grow once he gets to college.

The Buckeyes are trying to add as much talent as they can on the offensive line. They still have some other big fish they are looking to grab on the line, although this is a good first step. Cook may not get a lot of playing time early in his career, but he’s someone who Justin Frye thinks has some potential.

Frye is still trying to get David Sanders Jr. to commit to Ohio State. That might still happen after his visit this weekend. Cook is the only one so far. I’d expect them to have at least one or two more commitments from recruits who visited by at least Tuesday.
