The Ohio State football program is expected to be one of the best teams in the country this season. With all of the talent they have on both sides of the ball, they are going to be a really hard team to beat. Defensively, they might have the best roster in the country. Offensively, they should be much improved over last year.

In the Coaches Poll, the Buckeyes were ranked second. Only Georgia was ranked higher than the Buckeyes and Ohio State was the highest-ranked Big Ten ranked team. The AP Poll came out on Monday afternoon and it was more of the same. Ohio State is ranked second in that poll as well and is once again the highest Big Ten-ranked team.

The Buckeyes are second in the poll and are ranked behind Georgia in this one as well. With Oregon ranked third, the Ohio State Buckeyes are the highest-ranked Big Ten team in the AP Poll as well. Again, this is not a surprise. Ohio State is the favorite to win the conference and will be for most of the season as well. They are a great team.

Overall, there wasn’t too much change from the Coaches Poll. There are still four Big Ten teams in the top ten and there are six teams in the Big Ten who are in the preseason top 25. The Buckeyes play all of those teams this season except for one, which is USC. They don’t play the Trojans for the first time as conference members until next year.

It’d be more of a surprise if the Buckeyes didn’t rank second in this poll. They have a shot to be the number-one team at some point in the year. They only care if that happens at the end of the year, but it’s still nice to see that they are thought of so highly.
