If you enjoy betting on Ohio State player props, that may no longer be available to you if the NCAA has its way.

Sports gambling has become a much larger part of society over the last few years. With it being legalized in more and more states, people are taking advantage of it and wagering some cash on any sports they want to. Betting on the Ohio State Buckeyes has become normal for many in Ohio. I’ve placed a wager or two myself on the Buckeyes over the past two years.

We may not be able to bet on specific player prop bets much longer though. Player props are some of my favorite types of bets because I can bet on my favorite players to do well. I do that in pro and college sports. A lot of other people do too. New legislation introduced by the NCAA is asking Ohio sportsbook operators to take them down.

Ohio State player prop bets may be taken away

The NCAA is giving Ohio sportsbook operators until February 12th to explain why they shouldn’t have to take them away. It’s clear the NCAA continues to be against fun, although I do see where they are coming from. They want to make sure it’s harder for college athletes to fix games. There have been some stories of college players betting on sports, which they aren’t allowed to do.

Personally, I doubt that anything changes. Sports betting has been legal in the state of Ohio for a couple of years now and there haven’t been many issues. I think regulators do a pretty good job of snuffing out any problems. I would love to be able to continue to bet on Ohio State player props in both football and basketball.

We’ll see if anything changes in the middle of the month. This is just a request from the NCAA. They don’t have the power to actually change anything. We know they are bad at that anyway.
