The Ohio State football team is back in action this weekend after having their second bye week. This week will be different from any other weekend they’ve had so far. This is the first time they’re coming off a loss. Losing to Oregon before the bye week was not ideal. Fans seem fed up with Ryan Day after another loss in a big game.

Still, the Buckeyes are 5-1 and have all of their goals still in front of them. They also still have the number one recruiting class in the country for the 2025 class. A lot of that is because of the work they did in the Spring. They’re trying to keep that ranking as recruiting for that class wanes. They’ll be hosting a five-star recruit this weekend to help with that.

Ohio State will be hosting five-star defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart this weekend. Stewart was on hand for the loss to Oregon because he’s also considering the Ducks. It seems that loss didn’t disqualify the Buckeyes from being able to land Stewart. He’s also scheduled to be in Columbus for The Game, which will be an even bigger weekend.

While Stewart will be visiting, another five-star recruit canceled his visit. Na’eem Offord, who has been committed to the Buckeyes since February, has decided to cancel the visit he had scheduled this weekend. Instead, he will be staying home. That’s not a good sign for a player who has been rumored to flip for months.

Ideally, the Ohio State Buckeyes would be able to get both players and have them be contributors for the next few years. It’s tough to predict what will happen with either of them. Every time Offord says one thing, his actions indicate another. Stewart hasn’t mentioned who the frontrunner is for his services, but the loss to Oregon and the lack of sacks from the defensive line can’t help.
