The Ohio State football program is fully engrossed in recruiting right now. The 2025 recruiting class is the main focus at this point in the calendar. While they don’t have many commitments yet, that will be changing soon. Once camp season rolls around, that’s when recruits start to make decisions about their college futures.
One recruit has made a decision to narrow down to his final four schools. Receiver Vernell Brown III has narrowed down his decision to four schools. The Ohio State football program is one of those schools and is actually the only non-Florida school on his list. The other schools are Flordia, Florida State, and Miami.
The Ohio State football program is in the running for a four-star recruit
Brown is the son of former Florida defensive back Vernell Brwon Jr. Yet, Brown is still projected to pick the Buckeyes. The four-star recruit must recognize all of the pros that Brian Hartline has put into the league. He does have the best track record of any wide receivers coach in the country when it comes to putting guys into the league.
While he isn’t the biggest receiver, he makes up for it with his speed and route-running. Brown stands at just 5’11 and 170 pounds. He is still doing a great job getting open though. His separation is what sets him apart from other receivers in the class. He also has really soft hands, so he’ll make a lot of tough catches too.
We don’t know when Brown will made a decision on his future. We do know that he will be visiting the Ohio State football program at the end of the month. That’s when Ryan Day and his staff will put on the full-court press to see if they can land him. They have some other irons in the fire at the receiver position as well, so they will be adding more than one at that position.
