The Ohio State Buckeyes have always excelled in most sports. We know that the football program is the crown jewel of all of the sports they have, but it’s not their most successful. They have plenty of others that are very successful as well. The Buckeyes also excel at the Olympic sports. In fact, they have a ton of national championships in those sports.

This Summer in Paris, the Buckeyes will have a ton of representatives competing in the Olympics. While most of them aren’t recognizable to the average Ohio State fan, there are a wide variety of sports represented. In fact, the Buckeyes will have over 20 representatives in Paris competing for gold medals from various countries.

The Ohio State Buckeyes will have plenty of Olympians

Sports represented are wrestling, swimming, diving, pistol, rowing, track and field, soccer, fencing, and artistic swimming. All told, there will be 24 Ohio State Buckeyes in Paris. It will be a great showing for a ton of current and former Buckeyes. Perhaps no Buckeye Olympian is as famous as wrestler Kyle Snyder.

Snyder is already the youngest gold medal winner in the sport of wrestling when he grabbed gold in the 2016 Olympics. He won silver in Tokyo in the 2020 Olympics too and he will be looking to get gold back this Summer. Snyder is one of the favorites to win a gold medal and is one of the handful of Buckeyes who can actually bring back a gold medal.

The Buckeyes are proud to send 24 Olympians to Paris this Summer. It should be a great time for Ohio State Buckeye fans to watch all of these Olympians. I would expect at least a handful of medals from this showing of Buckeyes. It wouldn’t be surprising if there were three or four gold medals out of this group when it’s all said and done.
