The Ohio State football program has a lot of players who show up in preseason award watchlists. It happens every single year. That’s because they have some of the best players in the country every year. This year is no different. The Buckeyes have several players on preseason watchlists for some of the most prestigious awards in college football.

On Wednesday, the Buckeyes had another player land on a preseason watchlist. The Biletnikoff Award is given to the best pass-catcher in the country. Last year, that award went to Marvin Harrison Jr. That was an easy pick. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy for goodness sake. Another Buckeye has a chance to win it this year.

Emeka Egbuka is the best receiver that the Ohio State Buckeyes have right now. He’s the top option and will likely be a first-round pick when the NFL Draft rolls around. He wasn’t able to show everything he has last season because he was hurt. This year, he’s healthy and ready to attack opposing defenses and win football games.

Ohio State has other capable receivers who will help take some attention off of Egbuka. Defenses know how good Egbuka is and they might decide to try to double-team him. If they do, Carnell Tate or Jeremiah Smith will make them pay. Both are going to have a lot of receiving yards thanks to how good Egbuka is.

Ohio State should be able to put a lot of yards on defenses this year now that Will Howard is the quarterback. He has a dual-threat capability to him that Kyle McCord did not last season. That dual-threat capability will help the receivers be more open and rack up touchdowns and yards. It has a chance to be an elite offense.
