The Ohio State football team is happy to watch carnage

The Ohio State football team has looked great so far this year. They are happy to watch the carnage all around them that’s happening.

The Ohio State football team looked dominant in each of its first two games of the season. Not only did they end up destroying Akron, they did the same thing to Western Michigan. In fact, they played even better against the Broncos, not allowing a single point. Simply put, they look like one of the best teams in the country.

Around them, teams are faltering. The Buckeyes are holding steady as other top teams are losing. Notre Dame just lost to Northern Illinois at home and fell in the rankings. Michigan got throttled by Texas. Florida State has lost two games already. A lot of other teams have struggled without losing too. The Buckeyes are just sitting back and watching the carnage happen.

Even teams that have won all of their games haven’t looked like the juggernauts they were supposed to be. Oregon has struggled with both Idaho and Boise State. They needed a last-second field goal to beat the Broncos. Alabama didn’t pull away from USF until the fourth quarter this past week. Really only a few teams have looked good.

Ohio State, Texas, and Georgia are the three teams that look head and shoulders ahead of everyone else. All three teams have looked dominant in their games so far this year. Both Texas and Georgia have beaten ranked teams so far. Ohio State hasn’t had to face anyone good yet, but that will change in a few weeks. Still, looking good against bad teams is something that some other teams have struggled with.

As long as the Buckeyes keep winning, making the College Football Playoff won’t be an issue. They can win the Big Ten and get an automatic berth in the new 12-team format. But in case they do falter in the Big Ten portion of their schedule, it’s good to see other teams losing to increase Ohio State’s shot of being an at-large team.
