The Ohio State football team has had to deal with a lot of injuries this season. Some of them have been minor. Cody Simon, Donovan Jackson, and Jeremiah Smith have all had to deal with minor injuries. There have been a couple of major injuries that they’ve had to deal with, and it has now happened to the same unit.

On the offensive line, Josh Simmons was lost for the year after he got hurt during the Oregon game. That prompted the Buckeyes to reshuffle the unit and come up with a combination that has worked well over the last three games. Unfortunately, they are going to need to reconfigure the unit again because they’ve suffered another injury.

The Ohio State football team suffers another season-ending injury

Seth McLaughlin suffered a torn Achilles during practice. The Buckeyes are now down their starting left tackle and their starting center. This could not have come at a worse time. The Ohio State Buckeyes take on a top-five Indiana team this weekend. Having to replace your center three days before that matchup is horrendous luck.

Ohio State doesn’t have depth on the offensive line. It’s probably the unit that they have the least amount of depth on. Justin Frye’s poor recruiting over the last few years has created that problem. Now the unit is stretched thin. It might be stretched to the point of breaking. We’re going to learn a lot about what they think of their offensive line early in this game on Saturday.

The good news for the Buckeyes is that they have some of the best skill position players in the country. If there is any team in the country that can overcome an injury like this, it’s them. Will Howard will have to be at his best to make sure that this offense can continue to move the ball easily down the field.
