The Ohio State football team has been doing an excellent job with the 2025 recruiting class. They have the best class in the country and no one has more five-star recruits than the Buckeyes either. They now have four five-star recruits after getting another one on Saturday afternoon. Ohio State got a commitment from Riley Pettijohn.
Pettijohn is a five-star linebacker from the state of Texas. He chose the Buckeyes over Texas, USC, and Texas A&M. Pettijohn is the latest recruit to choose the Buckeyes. While it’s always great to land five-star recruits, Pettijohn’s commitment signals something more for Ohio State. It signals that more might be on the horizon.
More five-star recruits could choose the Ohio State football program soon
Ohio State has a few other guys that they are looking to add who are five-star recruits. Adding Pettijohn to the 2025 class gives them 23 recruits for the class. There aren’t that many spots left open in this class. Ohio State will probably only take three or four more prospects in this class. They are hoping that the five-star recruits end up taking those last few spots.
The Buckeyes are going to put on a full-on blitz to make sure that they can land both David Sanders Jr. and Jaime Ffrench. Those are the two biggest prizes left for Ohio State in this class. Pettijohn was third on that list and they were able to land him. What they do now to secure the commitment of the other two five-star recruits remains to be seen.
Pettijohn is a linebacker who can do it all. He can drop back in coverage, rush the passer, and stop the run. He has the perfect size for a linebacker with all of those skills as well. The Ohio State football team is getting a great player. It also means they could get more great players soon.
