Former Ohio State football coach takes second job in a month

Former Ohio State football coach Corey Dennis has decided to take his second job in less than a month after leaving the Buckeyes.

Ryan Day decided to make some changes to the Ohio State football program after the season ended. Some of those changes included staff changes. He hired a new OC and then ended up getting a better one. He fired his safety coach and also let go of GA Corey Dennis. Dennis helped with the quarterback room while he was with the Buckeyes.

Dennis was a holdover from Urban Meyer’s staff. He is actually related to Earle Bruce, so that’s part of the reason that he had the job in the first place. Still, he worked with Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud and helped them become really good quarterbacks. Yet, Day decided to cut ties with him at the end of the 2023 season.

Ex-Ohio State football coach Corey Dennis now has his second job in less than a month

Dennis was reportedly hired by Utah a couple of weeks ago to be an offensive analyst. Good for him! He wanted to keep his coaching career going so he joined another coach that Meyer knows well in Kyle Whittingham. Whittingham has been at Utah ever since Meyer left there 20 years ago and coached under Meyer.

It seems that Dennis didn’t think that was the right move for him because he has now found another position with another school. He has moved to the SEC to take a job with Ole Miss. He is now the quarterbacks coach under Lane Kiffin. So in less than a month, he decided to move across the country to take a different job than the one he was hired to do at Utah.

I actually can’t blame him for this. This is an upgrade in terms of job title and responsibilities. He now has control of some recruiting as well as player development. I think this is a good move for Dennis. He also gets to coach in the SEC and go against some of the best programs in the country just like he did when he was with the Ohio State football program.

I wish nothing but the best for Dennis in his future coaching endeavors.
