The Ohio State basketball team is still trying to do some work around the transfer portal. They only have one guy who has transferred in so far, and that’s former Buckeye Meechie Johnson. They have had four guys leave in the portal. Jake Diebler has been busy filling out his staff, but he’s also been keeping an eye on the portal.

Diebler is looking for some help at a couple of positions. The Buckeyes need some help at the small forward position as well as center. With Zed Key leaving for the portal, only Felix Okpara has played meaningful minutes at that position for the Buckeyes. Ohio State is hosting a big-time center from the transfer portal, however.

The Ohio State basketball team is hosting Aaron Bradshaw from Kentucky

It was announced that Aaron Bradshaw, a center from Kentucky, will be visiting Columbus. The Ohio State basketball team would love to have someone of his size on the roster. Bradshaw stands at 7’1 and is a former five-star recruit. He was the best center in the 2023 class and will be leaving now that John Calipari is at Arkansas.

Bradshaw will likely take other visits after this, but it would be really nice to land him. He only played 13.6 minutes per game in his freshman season but still showed some talent. With more playing time, he should be a really solid player. Bradshaw would be the perfect backup to Okapara for next year.

This would be the first big-time transfer recruit that Diebler has landed as head coach. He just landed a five-star recruit for the first time since being a head coach, something that Chris Holtmann was never able to do. If he could land a stud out of the portal like Bradshaw, this team would become a lot better for 2024-25.

Expect more activity in the portal from the Buckeyes as we continue along in the offseason.
