The Ohio State football program has been killing it on the recruiting trail this offseason. It’s very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but the Buckeyes are already doing a great job. They already signed the top cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class last month. Tim Walton is doing the best he can to sign some great players.
It’s clear that NIL money is helping Ohio State’s cause too. NIL money is clearly something that new athletic director Ross Bjork has no problem embracing. If the Buckeyes keep getting commitments from great players, the NIL money is going to keep flowing. I bet Ohio State’s newest commitment will be getting some of that too.
Na’eem Offord commits to the Ohio State football program
Na’eem Offord, the second-best cornerback in the country and the sixth-best player overall, has committed to the Buckeyes. Offord joins Devin Sanchez for a wicked one-two punch at the cornerback position for the 2025 class. Ohio State is the first program since 247Sports started to gain a commitment from the top two corners in the country.
Offord is a really good player and should be able to fight for playing time right away as a freshman. Both he and Sanchez have a shot to take over for some really good corners once they leave this season. Denzel Burke and Jordan Hancock will be gone after this year. Someone will have to take their place.
Walton has become an extremely valuable piece of Ohio State’s coaching staff. He has become the second-best recruiter behind Brian Hartline as far as assistant coaches go. Ryan Day has shown that he has complete confidence in Walton to not only recruit the best cornerbacks to the Ohio State football program but develop them even further.
We can only hope that Offord keeps his word and sticks with the Buckeyes once it comes time for him to sign his Letter of Intent. There’s a lot of time between now and December though. The staff is going to have to be diligent with his recruitment every day.
