The Ohio State football program had a number of visitors in Columbus over the weekend. In fact, there were 12 recruits on campus. It was perhaps the biggest recruiting weekend of the year for the Buckeyes. Multiple commitments were expected to come from those visits. One commitment happened immediately after he left campus.

While that commitment was great, it wasn’t the only one the Buckeyes were able to get. The Ohio State football program also got a commitment from four-star defensive line prospect Zion Grady. Grady was one of the many players on the visit this past weekend. and has now decided to be a Buckeye. He is from the state of Florida.

The Ohio State football program gets a four-star defensive line recruit

Grady stands at 6’4 and 235 pounds and is considered an edge prospect. He could play linebacker if the Bucekyes really needed him to, but he will likely be a defensive end. Having Larry Johnson still able to pull in top recruits is a good sign considering he is very close to retirement. He won’t be with the Ohio State football program forever.

The Buckeyes continue to have the best recruiting class in the country for the 2025 recruiting class. Getting Grady only helps increase that ranking. The Buckeyes now have 19 commits for their class. They are expected to get at least five or six more recruits in this class, as it should be a pretty full recruiting class. Most of the recruits who will commit in the future will be on offense.

While getting two recruits was great, they didn’t get any of the big fish who were on campus. They were hopeful to get a couple of five-star recruits over the weekend. That can still happen, but it would have been nice to close on those recruitments as soon as possible.
