The Ohio State football team has stalled a bit on the recruiting trail recently. They haven’t had any recruits commit to them since the Spring Game. They also have lost a cornerback recruit. Right now, the Buckeyes have just 12 commits for the 2025 recruiting class. Even with that being the case, they still have the second-best recruiting class so far.

One of the commits they have is Na’eem Offord. Offord is the second-best cornerback recruit in the country and is a five-star prospect. As of now, he is the third-highest-ranked prospect that Ohio State has in the class right now. There is a rumor out there that his recruitment is suddenly open and he’s scheduled visits to other schools. He shut that down quickly.

Ohio State football recruit shuts down open recruitment rumors

There were rumors that Offord had opened his recruitment up after a visit to Oregon. The rumor also said that he has Auburn and Alabama in the mix. Offord came out on social media and immediately refuted those rumors.

As you can see, Offord shut down those rumors rather emphatically. He is locked in with the Ohio State football team and will be heading to Columbus in the Fall. He is a really good player that any program would love to have. Of course, things aren’t ever set in stone until the Letter of Intent is signed and sent in on Signing Day.

NIL has changed that a lot more in the last few years. Recruits are flipping at the turn of a hat because of NIL deals being offered at the last minute. Ryan Day knows this and he won’t rest until December when most of these guys are set to sign. More teams are going to come after Offord. Day has to show that the Buckeyes really want him, and they do.
