The Ohio State football program is assembling a really good 2025 recruiting class. In that class, the secondary is the star of the group. They have the top two corners in the country as well as two three-star safeties. They just added another member to that group on Sunday by getting the second-best safety in the country to commit to them.

Faheem Delane, a four-star safety from Maryland, has chosen Ohio State over a host of other schools. He chose the Buckeyes over Alabama, Auburn, and some of the other college football big boys. Delane joins a group of Buckeyes that is really solid. Not only did the Buckeyes get another great member of the secondary, but a good player overall.

The Ohio State football program now has the top-rated recruiting class

With the addition of Delane, the Buckeyes now have the best recruiting class for the 2025 class. Ohio State has never had the best recruiting class in the country before at the end of the year. That’s a “recruiting national championship”. If they can keep recruiting at the clip they have in the first six months of the year, they have a chance to land one.

As far as Delane goes, he can do it all. Not only can he cover, but he can play the run too. If the Buckeyes need him to blitz off the edge, he has the speed to go ahead and do that as well. His size allows him to take on big running backs and be able to bring them down. Ohio State targets those kinds of players for the secondary.

The Ohio State football program now will try to land some great recruits on the offensive side of the ball. They have plenty on defense. There are some big fish they are targeting on offense, so we’ll see how many of those they are able to land.
