The Ohio State football team has done better than any other program in the country in terms of recruiting for the 2025 recruiting class. No one has done a better job of getting talent. The Buckeyes have been able to get some top recruits in the last couple of weeks, although none of them have been five-star recruits.
Ohio State had a shot to get a five-star recruit on Thursday night on the 4th of July. Five-star receiver Dakorien Moore was making his final decision after having de-committed from LSU a few months ago. He was choosing between Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and LSU. Ohio State was hopeful to land him, but could not do it.
Ohio State football team misses out on Dakorien Moore
Moore decided to commit to Oregon instead of the Ohio State football program. The Buckeyes have three receivers in their recruiting class already, but none are five-star recruits. Moore would have been the first five-star receiver that the Buckeyes had grabbed since the 2024 class when both Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham enrolled.
While the Buckeyes weren’t able to land Moore, they aren’t done recruiting five-star receivers. They still feel pretty good about their ability to land a couple of the ones that are still available. One in particular, Jaime Ffrench, has been connected to the Buckeyes for months. He might be the five-star receiver they get for this class.
Even if Ohio State doesn’t end up landing a five-star receiver this cycle, that’s okay with them. They have plenty of talent at that position on the roster already. It’s the one position on the team that they don’t need to worry about. Ohio State football fans shouldn’t worry about the recruiting class in general.
If the Buckeyes can land a couple of final five-star recruits, this will be the best recruiting class in school history.
