The Ohio State women’s hockey team made it all the way to the national championship game last season after running through their schedule. They finished the season 33-6 and went 16-1 at home. They were rolling through opponents and games until the final game. That’s where the dream ended and the Buckeyes fell 1-0 to Wisconsin.

This year, the Buckeyes are out for revenge. They are the number-one team in the country right now and have a highly motivated squad. They are currently a whopping 24-2, including 21-1 in the Big Ten. Ohio State has already beaten Wisconsin twice, avenging their national championship loss. They still play the Badgers two more times this season though.

The Ohio State women’s hockey team could be the favorite to win it all

Ohio State is trying to remain focused on the task at hand. They are laser-focused on winning a national title after falling just a couple of goals short of that goal last season. They have everything they need to do so. The Buckeyes can score, and pass, and they have excellent goaltending. You need all of that to win a title.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been very successful in this sport for the last few years. It’s one of the many sports that Gene Smith has made successful in his tenure as AD. With Ross Bjork about to come in, this is one of the sports that is hoping to have a smooth transition. I would expect that they will and they should keep winning titles.

As for this season, the Buckeyes have a couple more weeks of regular season play before the WCHA quarterfinals. After that, the NCAA Tourney, which the Buckeyes should be able to get a number-one seed in. As long as they keep doing their thing, there’s no other team in the country who can cool them down.
