The Ohio State football team has the best recruiting class in the country for 2025. A lot of that is because of the work they did early on in the year. The Buckeyes landed some of the best defensive recruits in the country right off the bat. For a while after that, things slowed down. In the past week, they have ramped right back up again.

In the last week, the Buckeyes have been able to get four commitments from recruits. Ohio State still has a lot of work to do on the recruiting front. They added another good recruit on Friday when the Buckeyes were able to land a four-star defensive lineman. Ohio State got a commitment from Trajen Odom from the state of North Carolina.

Ohio State was chosen over Oregon, USC, and Georgia. Odom stands at 6’4 and 285 pounds and has fast hands on the line of scrimmage. He has the speed to close on the quarterback before he can escape or throw it away. Ohio State needs more solid players on the defensive end and that’s exactly what they get with Odom.

Odom becomes the fourth defensive lineman to be a part of the 2025 recruiting class for the Ohio State football program. Larry Johnson has done an excellent job of being able to recruit guys despite being negatively against because of his age. This is the type of class that Ohio State needed to have with the defensive line. They needed to build more depth.

That’s exactly what this recruiting class has gotten them along the defensive line. Now, they have guys that they can rotate throughout the line in the next few years. That will happen more in the next couple of seasons than it will this year.
