Ohio State women’s basketball dominates Michigan State

The Ohio State women’s basketball team headed into East Lansing to take on a solid Michigan State on Sunday afternoon before the Super Bowl. They were trying to take sole possession of the Big Ten after Iowa was upset by Nebraska. They were able to do that without any issue at all, beating the Spartans 86-71.

It was a surprising win considering the foul trouble the Buckeyes found themselves in in the first half. Their three best players had three fouls heading into halftime. The Buckeyes were up by 18 at halftime regardless thanks to their press. They forced Michigan State into a ton of turnovers in the second half to open up that lead.

The Ohio State women’s basketball team is now in first place in the Big Ten

Ohio State was led by Celeste Taylor who had 20 points on 8-13 shooting. She helped keep the offense moving in the first half when Jacy Sheldon and Cotie McMahon had three fouls. Rebecca Mikulasikova also kept the offense moving, scoring 19. It was the best game she’s played in a while it came at the perfect time.

Ohio State improves to 21-3 on the season and 12-1 in the Big Ten. They are ranked fifth in the country right now but they will probably move into the top three with Iowa and Colorado both losing. The Buckeyes are trying to get that double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament, which they almost have locked up at this point.

If you haven’t watched this team yet this season, this is a good time to jump on the bandwagon. The Buckeyes could get a number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament. This is the best chance to make the Final Four that they have had in a while, although they did make the Elite Eight last year.

This is a team that deserves support. They have five games left in the regular season. Watch them as much as you can!
