The Ohio State women’s basketball team is the best basketball team on campus. It’s not even close. We’ve seen the men continue to lose over and over. The women are the exact opposite. They are an elite squad that plays together and plays with heart. Quite frankly, it’s been that way for the last two years.

Ohio State showed that again on Sunday afternoon by beating another elite team. They beat Indiana 74-69 in a game that showcased two of the best teams in the Big Ten. Ohio State did this just a couple of weeks after taking down Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes with both victories coming in the Schott.

The Ohio State women’s basketball team might get a number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament

All season long the Buckeyes have been led by Jacy Sheldon. She led them again on Sunday, scoring 25 points and grabbing 3 steals. The Ohio State Buckeyes had 10 steals as a team and continue to play a frenetic style of defense as they have all year long. They had four players score in double figures from the starting lineup.

Because of Ohio State’s top-shelf wins and their overall record, the Buckeyes are in line to get a number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament. They have an overall record of 19-3 and sit atop the Big Ten standings. There aren’t a lot of other teams in the country that have the same type of resume that the Bucks do.

If you haven’t checked out the women yet this season, I implore you to do so. They play a fun style of basketball and are really skilled. They have a real shot to make the Final Four this year and could contend for a national title.

This has the opportunity to be one of the best Ohio State women’s basketball teams of all time. More people need to watch them.
